A unique shot of 2 Humpback whales going through the Heads at Sydney and heading South - 22AUG21 1080p
These Seals 1km off Manly are seriously harassing several Dolphins and literally running circles around them. Quite incredible to see. They appear to be biting them on the tails. Perhaps a dispute over fishing territory ? 12AUG 1080p
As all the whales turn south they are more likely to pause or play on the way. This young Humpback leads his Mum and others on a little dance past Manly and North Head. Tail and Fin slapping and rolling onto his back blissfully. What started as 5 was split up by speed boats. ( More Vision on Request )
A Mother Humpback and a very new calf float past the Heads of Sydney. The new calf not able to stay down long with Mum yet. This is only a 57 sec clip but I followed them for 15mins.
SYDNEY - July 2021
On a Grey Winter day I was lucky to find this silver lining riding their Mum across the Manly bay area on their way south. Originally I saw that a seal was the first local to find them though and can be seen darting around them. The calf is very new but the seal puts both their sizes into perspective. Let's hope the calf makes it safely all the way south. I notionally called them Nili & Chase after a wonderful mother I know and her son. 9AUG
This Humpback Pod with 2 calves was having a lot of fun as it passed Avalon Beach

Headed South from Sydney - the "escort" and the calf seem to have plenty of time to thrash out a few tail slaps

Spotted by many of my friends off Queenscliff near Manly NSW, a Humpback Mother and Calf pause on their early journey south to lol about fin slapping and breaching in the warmer shallows.
This went on for over an hour and here are some out takes.

Adult Humpbacks get a calf to follow in a double breach and the calf continues afterwards to exhilarate in performing several twisting breaches. Filmed as whales seem to have already begun their return south past Sydney at the end of September.

These two humpbacks were headed south even in August - Perhaps they were all partied out and heading home early

Southern Right Whale plays with newborn calf
off Avalon Beach NSW.
Right Whales were called so because they were the right whales to kill for their oil. Once between 55k and 70k in the Southern oceans, they were reduced to 300 by exploitive behaviour.

A young Humpback Mother fights to protect her very new calf as she travels past Sydney and North to Queensland

Just a couple of breaches here but the interesting thing was the acceleration prior to diving and then breaching the air
